Windows ME. Browsing problems with IE5.5

I have recently started to experience problems with with my browser in Win ME. I cannot view certain webpages such as www.microsoft.com and get a unable to view page message, I also have this problem with a few other pages. I have a home network running and I have no problem viewing these pages on the other computers using internet sharing. I have re-installed IE5.5 but that did nothing. I have re-installed DUN and have tried my best to find some good info to sort this out to no avail. I have also tried setting my internet options back to default but I still have the same problem. I also have another problem where there is no activity (daya in or out) from my modem when I click on a page link, then about 10-15 seconds later it sparks into life.....very annoying.

Sounds like it might be a Winmodem or an ISP latency problem - what kind of modem do you have and what is your indicated connect speed? Have you tried a different access number or a different ISP? Have you tried hardcoding your ISP's DNS server IP addresses in the DUN?

My modem is an Olitec 2000 external 56k V90 modem. I dont think its a problem with my modem as my other computers on my home network dont have the same problem using internet connection sharing. As for hardcoding my isp's details into DUN, no not yet, I will give it a try, many thanks for your suggestions
