No Drive Letter Assign -Win98SE

The system is not assigning a drive letter to my FastTrack 66 array. I have talke to Promise Tech support and everything is functional and running ok on that end. He suggested that there may be a problem with Explore, not that I know how Explore figures in this. Whats the problem when the system will not assign a drive letter to a drive. This FastTrack array card is PnP in the PCI slot.

Make sure it's properly connected and all the drivers are installed. Also make sure in your config.sys that it has a line that says LASTDRIVE=Z. This worked for me once when my cd rom drive wouldn't appear in my computer.

Tech support at Promise FastTrack, help me to realize that I was removing drive formated with WinNt and trying to use the same drives in Win98. We reformat and everything is ok
