could somebody give me some possible reasons why i dont get sounds from my speakers..and actually 1 pair of them wont even cut on..heres the story:

the extac day i installed my cox high speed internet was the day my speakers mysteriously stop working..i know their not blown and i didnt unplug the pair of speakers i was using (they wont even cut on now)

now i have a pair of speakers that will cut on..but no sound from them ..basically i dont have any system sounds..also if this helps..when i go to device manager, systems devices, system speaker it says "no drivers installed to this device"

any suggestions u guys could think of would help..im willing to look into everything..and no the volume controls arent down or on mute

Do you have a set of speakers that you know work that you could hook up and test with to see if it's the speakers or the sound card? Most sound cards come with some sort of test program to make sure the sound card is working properly. If you have another set of speakers, then you could test to see if its the speakers or sound card that is at fault. As for that system speaker not having any drivers installed....it doesn't need them. The system speaker is the little speaker that give you the POST beep when you first turn your system on. No driver needed for that. I just double checked on my system (both my speakers and my system speaker work fine) and mine says no drivers are installed for that either.
