S-video?

my girlfriend has an hp ze4805us laptop.
i think it can be connected to the tv but i'm not sure.
is the connector that i've taken a picture of the one to connect to the tv? it kinda looks like an s-video connector but not exactly, right?
what kind of adapter do i need in order to output video to a tv (not an hdtv)?

Looks like the symbol means S-Video Out. Lotsa TVs have S-Vid In. Have you given it a shot, yet?

i don't have a proper adapter/cable to connect it to the tv (this is a hand-me-down laptop and i don't have all the original stuff that came with it).
i took the laptop to a computer store (ncix) and the guy there said he thinks it's an s-video plug but probably needs an adapter that should have come with laptop. so i left empty handed.
the laptop is now far far away (see my other thread about a network computer being on the other side of the globe). so i won't be able to test it now.
the laptop belongs to my girlfriend who went back home and will be staying with her parents until she can come back.
they don't even have a dvd at home and i'm going to visit in a couple of weeks and i'd like to be able to connect her laptop to their tv so that they can all enjoy dvd movies and the pics and movies from our digital camera (which are on the laptop) on their tv.

It looks like a multi-purpose connector that would branch out into composite and s-video. S-Video only has four pins. I am not sure how you would go about getting the adapter. Maybe try contacting HP?

Plus, it's only the video signal. You'd also have to use audio outputs as well.

I have an s-video to composite converter, and it resembles that plug. You *shouldn't* have a problem connecting s-video directly to the port, but I suppose an s-video to composite adapter would have to come directly from HP.
