I have a new build. I am using ASUS P5RD1-VM mainboard, and a Pentium 4.

The problem is that there is no video signal at all. I have the output going to the DVI input of an LCD screen.

I do not have a CRT monitor available to test.

I have tried resetting the CMOS, still no video.

I tried using spare LCD, still no signal.

It seems to complete Power on self test successfully, and then I can hear CD-ROM activity, as it spins up the Windows XP CD.

But there is no signal.

It does have a PCI express socket, so I could *buy* a graphics card, to check it.

But why would an ASUS board not default its video output to the on board video card? It is an ATI chipset.

Thanks for any replies,

That's two LCDs it won't work with (Plugged in and turned on? Yeah I know but you'd be surprised how often that happens.) and it's not beeping at you so I'd put the fault in the DVI connection itself. Something's not making contact.
You can check to make sure that the cable is in tight but it looks like it's time to rma the board.

Thanks for the reply. It was the Mainboard. Somehow it was bad. I got a replacement one today, and it works fine now. :D
