Can I reinstall WinMe over an existing copy,will it install twice on the same
drive?Will existing material be affected?

Yup, you can, just make sure that you rename the install directory back to WINDOWS, it may want to rename it to WINDOWS.000 which would come up as a clean install.

Thats good news for me Hal,but where will a bloke find the install directory?

The install directory is normally just C:\WINDOWS by default.

Only if C:\windows does not exist. If it already exists the default is Windows.000. If you install again the default is Windows.001, etc. ad nauseum.
