Can anyone lend me a link to a good wireless mouse and keyboard. I think it's time to go wireless but I've heard a lot of bad things such as "the mouse will eat your batteries" and I would like to be directed towards something good for me to use, and since I know nothing about wireless keyboard and mouse that is why I am asking you guys.

I like Microsoft's basic wireless setup. I have a lot of rechargeable AA so every now and then when I need to swap, it's not a hassle.

Newegg's site is updating so I can't post links right now. Anyways, I've used MS and Logitech before and they both make good setups. Logitechs do have rechargeable mice, but it takes months of use before my MS keyboard and mouse need new AAs. The keyboard lasts longer (at least 4-5 months or so) than the mouse (about every 3-4 months), but that's still pretty good run times given how much I use them.

Whatever you do, though, stay away from the generic brands. It might pay to go to your local electronics or office supply store to try a keyboard on for size and to get a feel for the mouse.

so glc i can take the AA's from both the mouse and the keyboard and recharge it on the rechargeable black "adapter" that comes with both? Or is it just for the mouse?

That black "adapter" is actually the receiver, which is also a cradle to recharge the mouse - just drop the mouse in the cradle when you go to bed. Don't sweat the keyboard - those batteries last at LEAST 6 months.

I actually picked up a new desktop set today, the MS laser 6000 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823109153)set. The mouse buttons are a bit on the soft side, but I'm really liking the keyboard.

Some of the Logitech offerings are also pretty decent. MS and Logitech offer pretty competetive products so it's going to be hard to say which is better; it's all about your preference. Battery times are actually pretty equal to, but it's between AA which you need to replace or recharge (ok if you have AA handy) or rechargeable built in like what GLC suggested.

Scratch that, the MS laser set is a POS. The keyboard misses some of the letters I type. I know it's not the signal b/c I'm using a similar transmitter with my current set. So I returned it and will probably get the Logitech MX3100 set (there's a rebate out on it at several stores including amazon), or the Logitech gaming keyboard + LX7 combo.

well i decided when i order my parts for the next build i will use glc's link. Since even my friends recommended logitech, i will be ordering that

That's very nice - and it's also a rechargeable mouse. Depends how high end you want to go.
