I just got done with my build, put it all together, blah blah blah....I have been running it, and everything seems to be good to go. Now how and where do I go to make sure EVERYTHING is the way its supposed to be? ie: Dual Core is working, good resolution on my VidCard, Memory is all accounted for, etc..... and how do you go about tweaking everything so it works at its BEST?! Do you do everything from BIOS? or do you go somewhere else...... Would appreciate the help..

tweaking
Are you referring to OverClocking? Where you push the system to perform at higher rates? Also install some games, play some. Or better yet benchmark it, like Sandra, or PCPitstop (http://www.pcpitstop.com/). Good job on your first build. BTW I'm curious, how fast does it boot with an X2?

no, i dont know about the whole OC just yet. Im still learning...maybe when im on my next build i'll think about it. I have run some games, Rome and Quake 4..runs smoothly, no glitches...Boots pretty quick, I couldnt tell you if it boots faster or slower then others...but all in all, so far so good. I'll look into the benchmark too. thanks...

I did not know what you meant by tweaking. So do you have some anti-virus program? It's good to stay protected, like AVG, Avast, Spybot, CCleaner,SpywareBlaster, Xoftspy..etc (I have all of them). Is everything working right or do you have flags in Device Manager? Someone told me that their 4600+ was able to boot his system from 3-10 seconds. Yours should be lightning fast too.

i have NAV, but im about to get rid of it and pick up AVG. I also downloaded Spybot and later today im going to down load Adaware as well. Ok, I know im a complete idiot when it comes to computers....but im learning....what do you mean flags in my Device Manager...hahahha.....im sorry. i feel like a kid in a chem lab! My boot up time is about the same...its pretty quick. I just want to know that everything is working correctly. When I get home, im going to do that PCPITSTOP and im still waiting on a response for the benchmark thing. (dont know what that is either) People take computers for granted...I thought I knew computers until I built one and found out all the specs...it is really amazing what you can learn!

based on your post, I would say its working fine. if it does everything you want it to do.

I did the PCPITSTOP thing and it said everything was ok. but one question...it said that it detected a Pentium 4 as my processor...i have a Pentium D. Does that mean that my computer is running only as ONE processor? Where do i see if both are working correctly?

Click start--right click mycomputer --click properties--click hardware--click device manager--click the plus sign next to processors. Your processor should be listed twice there.
