On my son's new computer he just finsished, the light on the Logitec Optical mouse stays on even when the computer switches off. I realize there's still juice going to ATX boards when they're off, but why would this happen? This mouse has a usb plug and he's running the ps2 adapter in the ps2 port like he did on his old machine. Should he chuck the adapter and plug in into a usb port?
Specs:
Soyo 7ISA+ (815E)
Celeron 850

I am using an Asus CUSL2 motherboard and my mouse LED stays on all the time too with my optical mouse. On the Asus board I can have it go out by switching a jumper on the board. Maybe your Soyo board is the same as both use the Intel 815e chipset.

Thanks Skeeter, I'll check it out in the manual.
If there's a wake-on-mouse option, I'll bet it's keeping the PS/2 port active...

Hey X,
Is that in the bios, or are you talking about a jumper? The only thing close is a "USB Keyboard Wake-Up" jumper and that's set to the default (disable).

Hey X,
I found the "Power On" setting in the bios I think you were referring to. It was correctly set to "Button". Other options are hotkey, keyboard, mouse move.

Yeah jobe,
I took the ps2 adapter off and plugged the mouse directly into a usb port. That solved the problem.
