-I have two WD SATA hard drives. 74gig Raptor and 320gig Caviar

-Power outage turned off my computer, it's on a surge protector

-Turned it on again and played a game, it froze during the game

-Reset and it wouldn't get past the Windows XP loading screen

After some troubleshooting, I found out that I could only get past the loading screen if I disconnected the Caviar. But I could go into safe mode with the Caviar connected and use both hard drives.

I have an Asus mobo. Thanks for any help.

In safe mode, open a command prompt and run CHKDSK /R on all associated drive letters (i.e. chkdsk c: /r ,etc.) and see what happens. If it tells you the drive is locked, it will offer the option to do it on next reboot, type Y, close the window, and reboot. If you still have problems, download WD's diagnostics and run them on the drives.
