How hot is hot for a 6600 GT NVIDIA card? I see temps up to 69 C, is that something to be concerned about?
I've installed a fan right next to the card, but it's still up there.
That temperature is fine. It is not at all unusual for a GPU to run much hotter than what you would want in a CPU. My GPU in my sig rig used to run at 70-74C under heavy load, before I installed the Zalman cooler. This dropped it's peaks to about 67C. I have heard of cards running at 90C without problem, but this is too warm for me. If you're not running above 75-80C, you're fine.

My 6800s are set to notify me when they reach 145ºC. Your temps are fine, though they are a little higher than what I normally hear of idle temps being.
Which direction do you have the fan next to the card blowing? It could be causing turbulance rather than helping, which isn't good.

It's a rotary fan, the type you place in a card slot outlet, on the same side as the heat sink/fan of the video card.

Yes, those temps look perfectly normal
My 6800s are set to notify me when they reach 145ºC.
are you sure its not 145F? 145C is almost 1 and half times the temperature of boiling water and will no doubt fry your card. You and I both would never want to see that pretty pair of 6800's burnt to a crisp.

6600gts do show a max temp of 145C. I agree that this is pretty hot, however that is what nvidia / evga say. Here is a screenshot of my 6600gt showing the max temp.
