Okay, in my home, we have a wireless network set up.

It used to be me upstairs connected to the router upstairs, and my sister downstairs connected to the same router. [Total 3 PC's in the house].

My computer upstairs recently died on me, so I bought a new one today. I have a PCI Wireless adapter card, [Linksys WMP54GS v1.1]. The router is also a Linksys, don't know the exact model and information about it, but I can go take a look into the room with the router in it if I must.

So, I installed the software and drivers for the WMP54GS Adapter, (And got an update from my sister's computer which I put on a flash drive and then installed on my computer).

Well, here's where I'm stuck, I don't know what to do now. I just can't figure out a way to connect to the router in the other room. The program that it installed isn't detecting the router.

So how do I get my PC to connect to that darn router?

Thanks in advance. Sorry that it was long, and pointless.

Try this.
Go the PC that connects to the Router. Open a browser. Type the address of the Router. My Netgear its 192.168.1.1
Have it Broadcast the SSID. Try to get the Linksysy software to Scan for it.
Do you have WEP Enabled? You would need to disable to do this.
Once you get connected, Renable the WEP on the router. Set the WEP on the Linksys to the same. Dont forget to disable the SSID broadcast.
This worked on my Netgear. Should be about the same as your Linksys.

What is your IP settings? Should be Server Assigned. Not Static.
