What devices go into a IDE slot? What do you do if you run out of IDE room?

IDE devices are hard drives, zip drives, LS-120 drives, CD-Rom's, DVD's, CD-RW's, some tape backup devices, etc.

Each IDE channel is able to control up to 2 devices. Usually a mainboard has two of them, so up to 4 IDE devices can be connectec.
If you run out of IDE room then you'll have the possibility to add an IDE controller card (or as much as you need, and have room for), also with 2 (or more) connections.
