Well, I was in the middle of building a new everyday use computer and found out that the Mobo was bad. So, I took glc's suggestion and order a new one from newegg.
I now am running a Biostar M7NCG 400. I am way ahead of the power curve from the last MoBo. I get cpu fan on and error code beeps. One long beep repeating itself. I am not sure if I am reading the manual right but it appears that the MoBo will work with one stick of DDR ram. I put a brand new stick of 1 gig DDR 400 ram onboard and the error continues. I have tried all three slots. Is there a jumper setting that I am missing?
Thanks.

Ram might be incompatible. Go to this page at biostar (http://www.biostar-usa.com/compatibleram.asp)and check the lists. Also a common oversight is forgetting tp plug the 4 pin auxillary power connector into the motherboard.

Couple of things I picked uup while browsing your mobo manual. PC3200/DDR400 is not supported. DDR333 is the fastest supported memory. Normally I would expect the DDR400 to just downclock to run synchronously with the cpu. But, because you're using a 1Gb stick and that's the maximum each slot can handle, you may find that memory configuration to be incompatible. Further, that board uses an Award bios. The beep code you've described is most often memory but it can also be a video problem.

Red,
I think that I have found the problem. First, I removed the RAM. Then I remove d the heat sink on it. Ran the model number and found that I was not the only one taken by the seller of this ram. Here (http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-7586-0.html?forumID=68&threadID=137557&messageID=1547171) is a link to my findings.
Back to the store and get REAL memory. This will teach me to do this on a budget.:(
Why didn't you just order name brand ram from Newegg or another major online vendor?
