Windows Messenge Problem

Windows messenger: I keep getting messages on it, however there is no icon in the taskbar, but there is a process running for it. I uninstalled windows messenger, but it keeps running. Can anyone help me fix this? I dont want it running. (Sorry for the bed description of the problem)
