You're looking for the Windows Defender Beta 2, which is what the Anti-spyware package is called now : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=7
Careful with it, it can mis-identify other software. And if it tells you it can remove your Norton's or something like that, don't let it.
ooh well thats why i couldnt fing it:rolleyes:
Ive just downloaded the Windows Defender it seems good.
Thanks for the reply

I tried this program on a friend's computer last night loaded with spyware. It scanned for about 10 minutes and crashed and did not find one thing in that entire 10 minutes. I then installed Spybot and it found 91 items and deleted them all. I liked the old antispyware program better.

I never found it to be anywhere as good as running the combo of Spybot and Adaware. But it works well for some, so I'm not going to say it's something to stay away from.

Yes. I loved the old version and worked very well for me, but this new version seems like it's a bit bloated with limited features. After my current version expires, I'll probably just go back to Spybot.

Yeah i just ran a scan using Windows Defender and the scan lasted about 1 minute and found nothing,
Then i ran Trend Micro antispywere and i also found loads of spyware and cleared them all up.
Surely theres some way of downloading the old Microsoft Antispywere?
If you could, it's only going to work till the end of June anyway.
I did get the old Microsoft antispywere.
I had burnt all my programs to a cd a while back and it was on their.

Well,I dont understand why they have replaced the good old Microsoft antispywere with that junk called Windows Defender.
I think Windows defender is just not good at all.
What is microsoft comming too?
First they replace the brilliant Microsoft antispywere then they have the new Microsoft One care that they want you to pay $49.95 annual subscription fee for protecting their own os.
Heres what a few other people had to say about it-
I like using Windows, however, why should I buy security software from the same company that make the OS so vulerable. It seems that Microsoft should make the Windows OS as secure as possible without any addition charges or hoop for consumers to jump through. I will never purchase The MS security product in protest. I have an idea! How about making the OS secure! What a rip off!

As far as I know Windows Defender is the same thing as MS Anti-spyware, they just gave it a cheesy name and polished off the UI.
