I have a Toshiba Satellite running Windows XP and I keep getting a blue screen of death when it "wakes up" out of hibernation. It doesn't happen every time, but it's been happening a lot and when it does it comes on and then disappears so fast I don't have time to read it. Then the computer shuts down and reboots and it will generally operate okay except for saying it had recovered from a serious problem (or something like that). It has done a few other wierd things lately too. A couple of times it just turned itself off in the middle of using it (not when hibernating) and the other day I was using it, it made a strange sound like it was shutting down and it froze. The screen was up but the cursor wouldn't move and the keyboard wouldn't work. Control-Alt-Delete did nothing, I had to turn it off with the power button. I have not added any new software lately or made any hardware changes other than using a Memorex M-flyer drive (USB pen-type drive) which runs off of Windows XP installed drivers. I'm using my laptop in the car and it stays in the car throughout the day, so is it possibly overheating? I don't know how to make the screen stay up longer so I can read the details before it shuts down. Any ideas?

To make prevent the computer from rebooting after a BSOD go to CONTROL PANEL > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery SETTINGS > and uncheck Automatically restart.
You could also check your computer's eventviewer for error logs.

Also make sure that you've got the newest drivers for your laptop from the Toshiba site.
