Bad Motherboard or Bad Processor?

Hi all.

I've been trouble getting my build to work and I was wondering if anyone could help me.

Using the barebones test, I've concluded that either my motherboard or processor is non-functional. I'm using a Asus A8N-SLI premium motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor. The motherboard powers on and can spin fans well enough, but no image appears on the screen and there are no beeps to speak of. Out of curiousity, I let the computer run for about 5 minutes before turning and off and quickly removed the processor. It was very cool to the touch. Is that normal or should it point toward my processor being bad? I don't have any other hardware that's capable of testing either of the boards, so any advice would be quite welcome.

I've already been through that, but it doesn't help much with my problem since I already know it's either the processor or motherboard. I'm just trying to figure out if there's any easy way to tell without RMA'ing and retesting

could it be the video card?
You mention no beeps, might want to double check the speaker connection, I had my polarity reversed at first.

Have you done an out of case build? If not try it. Your motherboard could be grounding on your case.

Are all the power connectors on the motherboard connected to the power supply? If you don't connect the 4 pin auxiliary, the CPU will not start.

Yep, I've tried multiple times to do an out of the case build, both with and without the 4 pin connector.

I am using a

ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard
AMD 3200+ socket 939 processor
Geforce 6800 GS
Thermaltake 500W power supply
Corsair 1048 x 2 Dual Channel (I've actually already returned another pair to make sure I was using memory off ASUS's QVL.

That board should have the Voice POST feature -- plug speakers or headphones into the green audio jack on the back of the computer and take a listen. It should report to you which component isn't working.
