Organizing Favorites in Exploer

Greetings,
Is there a way to truely organize your bookmarks in the favorites menu.
I know there is an organize option offered there but it seems to be rather unstabe and have a mind of it's own because no matter how many times I attempt to put them into the order I desire it sooner or latter does it's own thing.
I have tried to do this from windows exlorer to no avail.

Sort by name should work? But new ones you add will go to the bottom of the list so you'll have to resort every now and then. Can also create folders to help keep em organized.

There are MANY freeware apps to help with this. I've tried a couple and always end up not using them.
