Hi From Texas!
Right now,the background to pcmech is white.Something changed. Black background on some of my favorite sites have turned white. There must have been a setting changed. If so,does someone know where that setting in ME is?------------------Don

Hi Redo40 !
I went to where the MSoft article said and made some changes.I forgot to say in my post that i use CompuServre as my ISP .Now, CompuServe uses 'NetScape' as the browser. Any changes I did, did not affect Netscape. I did go and open Explorer. The sites there had the correct backgrounds for the various sites. There were no all white backgrounds unless the site designer meant it that way. So,it is a problem in Netscape. I might have to get the CD of CompuServe and re-install it. I will try that on Wednesday. I have a lot to do on the computer as for now.------Thanks---Don

You need to look around Netscape's preferences for something similar. My Netscape is ancient, but it's Appearance, Colors - it should have a checkbox in there somewhere for allowing the site to choose its own colors.

I don't use netscape, but I found this on the web, it may vary for your version.

Go to Edit/ then Preferences/ Colors and be sure "Always use my colors" is unchecked.

Thanks GLC!
Thanks redo40!
(I typed in the special AOL address bar)'Preferences'>'Internet Properties'>(brings up) 'Web Preferences' pop up box>'Colors' tab box > : In the 'Colors' tab box, there was this:, a square check box, "Use my chosen colors and ignore the colors specified on Web pages I visit " ---.----- I left this unchecked and that did it.
Thanks Guys-------------------Don
