Save yourself the trouble... just roll back to 1.0.7. Works best that way for me.

Must say I find peoples' issues with 1.5 strange. Being a bit of a techhie, i keep my XP install very clean, and have had no problems with the new Firefox crashing. I assume your system is similarly 'clean', Ryan...wonder what the problem is..?

I was under the impression it might have been to do with extensions.. so I did a clean 1.5 install with zero extensions... couple days later it started to crash and I lost bookmarks and the search engines. Tried the same with 1.5.0.1 and same thing happened (both with and without extensions). I have seen the issue other places online, and some people tossed around the idea of it being related to something to do with java... but I wasn't able to prove that as true or not. 1.0.7 is what I use now (like I said) and I have never had crashing issues.

I had a lot of trouble with 1.5 crashing, but 1.5.0.1 fixed my problems.

I've always had crashes with all versions of Firefox - it flipped out whenever Flash appeared despite having plug-ins installed (which were a pain to install, maybe they didn't install correctly).

I've never had any problems with firefox *knock on wood*. I'm currently using version 1.5.0.1 on both my laptop and desktop and have had zero problems. I also use a few extensions.
