hi,
In an attempt to stop a hijacker that was redirecting me to affilitatetarget.com, I ran that online scan at ewido.net while in safe mode. The problem seems to be gone but I also deleted a wink.lnk file and now when I restart I recieve a message that says wink.lnk cannot connect and to check the disk. From the info I have been able to gather wink.lnk is spyware, so I'm pretty sure I dont want it. The add/remove programs list shows wink but it will not let me do anything with it. I guess my question is...is wink of any relevance and how can i get rid of it if its not or repair it if it is? And also this is not my comp so I am not too sure what has been done to it. I just offered to try to help get rid of this problem since the $200 service she got from a tech did absolutely nothing to solve this problem.

What happens when you check the box in HJT for that entry and remove it? Is the wink.exe file still there or did you delete it in safe mode? In fact, delete the whole wink folder while you are at it.
