Hey guys and gals. I just got my new build up and running. . . Got to the bios page on the first try! I deserve a cookie!
Got a quick couple of questions. . .
Heres my build first
DFI lanparty Nf4 ultra-d mobo
athlon 64 3700+
x1900xtx
nzxt lexa with 3 120 mm and 1 80mm
I think that covers all I'm gonna ask about
as I understand it my CPU temp needs to stay below 50 at full load and I'm fine??
I'm a little concerned about the way I put on the arctic silver 5. I followed the instructions on their website. Instead of covering every inch of hte CPU I put a BB sized pile in the middle and then squished in there. I did a practice run at first and it covered most of the CPU but left the corners dry. The site says thats the best way to do it. I'm running at about 37C right now but it hasn't been on along time and its probably not running much of a load. Let me know about that.
hows about the chipset?? The default for it is at 55 for the fan to go full power. Is that ok?
also regarding the chipset fan. With that massive GPU in there the board on it goes nearly all the way to the HDDs. Its cutting the heat sink and fan on the mobo chipset in half and possibly blocking some of its ventilation. . . probably not much though. Is this going to be a problem? I can post a picture if I need to.
Thanks so much for the help. I never could have built this thing without help from this forum.
