Water cooling problem! Please Help!

Hello,

I have a water cooling device on my cpu,

Ive noticed alot lately that when I boot up, i get a "CPU fan failed" message, and windows wont load.

When I look into my case, the water in the cooling device is not spinning in a little whirlpool like it should be.


Sometimes If i turn the case onto its side, the water will start to spin and everything will be fine, until i boot up again and have to repeat these steps.


This continued for awhile, But then while the computer is running, I hear some straining noises, its the water cooling, because I see the spinning of the water falter when it makes these noises.




What should I do? Do i need to clean the device? replace the water/liquid? perhaps something is loose?

Please help, thank you in advance.

Ive noticed that it seems there may be slightly less water in the device than when I first purchased it, also. it seems a bit cloudy now.

May be low on water, have an air bubble someplace, kinked hose or improper routing of hoses.

I know my hoses are not kinked.

I do not know if they are improperly routed. but they are the same way they came.


The device does have a rather large air bubble where the whirlpool is.




How do I fix any of this?

Go here (http://www.overclock.net/overclock.php?file=articles/water-cooling-guide.htm) and scroll down to the bottom of the page. I'd agree that the noise and problems your having are caused by air in the system.

The "CPU fan failed" message and your water cooling problem are two separate issues unless your water pump is plugged into your CPU fan plug on your MOBO....which it should NOT be because the water pump will draw much more current than the mobo fan socket was designed to provide. You can turn off the failed fan message in your BIOS.

As far as your cooling problem goes, I agree with the other guys advice on trouble shooting the problem. What is your water pump plugged into? It may be drawing too much current causing a voltage drop...get out your test meter and check the voltage across your water pump when it is starting and when it is running under a load. More than a 15%/5% voltage drop is too much.

It's cloudy now? What did you use for coolant?
