Fan Speed, How do you controll it ?

Here's the break down for computer:

CPU 90 - 101 F
MB 88 - 96 F
CPU 725 RPM's +/- 50 RPM's
Chassis 953 RPM's +/- 150 RPM's
Chipset 6750 RPM's +/- 100

OC'd from 1.81 GHZ to 1.98 GHZ right now, stable system.

My chassis fan's are my concern, they are 120mm Thermaltake 1225A and
should run from 1300 - 2800 RPM's
There's two throttel controls knobs on the run they control the fan's from 0 RPM's to a max of 1050 RPM's.

See signature for what my computer is. I'm looking to control the fan's with the knobs for speeds between 1000 RPM's and 2800 RPM's.
Right now I'm on can only get between 0 - 1050 RPM's with them.

Any suggestions ?

If I recall,there's a jumper on the fan that dictates how the fan works,on,fan runs at full speed,another position it uses auto adjust,check the jumper and see how it's connected.
This is a Thermaltake smart fan,correct?

I don't know if this is a smart fan, is a jumper a little blue plastic piece ? I'm new at this stuff. I noticed some in my parts box if that is.

I tried looking your fan up, but couldn't really find anything on it. I did find that it is controllable, so make sure you have the controls on the fan set to full power otherwise you can't get full power from the controllers. ie, if the fan controller is set to the full 12V but the fan is only set to 8V, you won't get full speed, if you see what I'm saying.

How did you get this fan? Was it purchased seperatly or did it come with the case?

Yes it does and seems to have some similar specs. But mine is different that it came with the case which is stated in the original thread in my signature. It's a Thermaltake VS4000 BTW. It's spec most closely match the A2018. I don't really understand what the jumper does could you explain that ?

Well, I checked the bois and everything seems correct for voltage. The PSU state's FAN ONLY on the connector. So I doubt I screwed it up unless it comes already with a lower voltage. These two fans came with the case(stated in signature) and I think I wrote down the model number for the fans in a earlier post.

I going to try to hook up the jumper in the diagram displayed in the link below and we'll see what that does.

I have a similar problem, i think :P, My aerocool Case fan is connected to the motherboard through the CHA2 spot. And the fan seems like its too loud and its supposed to be a quiet fan. I can't seem to find where I can control it. Unless i'm in the wrong spot it only lets me play with when i get warned about cpu temp. DO i need to buy a seperate fan controller?

Hmm, not sure, my case came with the 2 fans and 2 control knobs. They are really quite, it should run between 1300 and 2800 RPM's but is currently around 1000 RPM's. My fan's are also connected at
CHA_1 and CHA_2 it stat's in teh manuel not to conect jumper caps to those two spots. But if you check the diagram from the link in the earlier spot, I think that's a jumper in a different location.

I'm very annoyed at ANTEC True Power 2.0 It clear states on the conector FAN ONLY. Well I started playing with your suggestions about the jumper and had no luck so I reconnected everything. Then I though I'm going to disconnect the one STATED FAN ONLY and reconnect the fan's power to a regular connection.

Well, it worked, fan speeds are where they are supposed to be. Don't know why antec would provide two connectors that are for FAN ONLY if they don't provide the fan's with enough power.

They are just there for silence. Comes in handy when u dont have a fan controller and want to lower the speed of fans.

Right, those power cables are getting the same voltage as the fan in the power supply (or similar). When the power supply heats up and the fan in the power supply speeds up it gives more voltage for the fans. As a side note, I've got the same power supply and I've got some fans that won't even start spinning because it's not giving the fans enough voltage. My slower fans do start though since the startup voltage is lower.

But even at 1250 RPM's the fan's are whisper quite, I don't hear them right now. I turn them up while playing my games, IE BF2 or WOW that are graphic intensive. Even then the computer temp doesn't go above 104 F. The cooler the computer the better and with the fan's turned up it's keeping it cooler while gaming then before. Before they didn't speed up when the temp went above 100 F. I don't know what temps I should get concerned at but I've seen some rigs that state they like to keep the temperature below 90 F.
What's a general guideline for what temperatures should be ?

My computer is OC'd, 1.81 GHZ original and now 1.98 GHZ. No real change in temperature difference.

Also, what is a AMD at 1.98 GHZ equivilant to ?

Is there a chart or something I could look at to compare what GHZ speed are equivialant to ?

If 1.81 GHZ = AMD 3000
What does 1.98 GHZ = ?

Any thoughts ?

Your temps are fine, you don't want your CPU temperatures above 60C (for AMD) to 70C (Intel) (140F - 160F), that's under a load. 90F or 32C is very cool (pun intended) (at idle) if you can get it down that far, but more likely around 95-100F. Bottom line, 100F (37C) idle and anything under 140F (60C) under a load is fine.

I believe a 3200+ runs at around 2.0 GHz, so I'd say it's similar to a 3200+ now.

A temp of 104F is only 40C, an excellent temperature. The general rule of thumb is that anything over 60C, 140F, is too hot, so your temps are great.
