Try running the online scan from ewido. If you only getting popups from certain sites, avoid those sites or install yahoo toolbar or google toolbar and turn on popup blocking.

You can actuallly block all pop-ups with FireFox, entirely. I do this with both the browser and again with the FasterFox extension, which has a built in hidden blocker.
Also, under the advanced mode with Search and Destroy, you can add Spybots Host Files to you Host File, which will block many known spyware and add companies from being able to 'access' your computer, and this could help prevent pop-ups.

Pop-up blockers are fine, if you have a clean system to begin with but simply installing popup blockers will not usually resolve the problem.
Some type of malware is causing the multiple pop-ups in the first place.
Hopefully Ewido will get you clean enough to proceed.

Look through this Here (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm). Read over the instructions, then try downloading and adding their entires to the hosts file. The addition of those entires to my hosts file won't even allow me to manully open that pop-up.

Download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
* You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
* When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Turn your computer back on.
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
Once the updates are installed do the following:
REBOOT into Safe Mode
Run EWIDO
