keyboard/mouse question

I'll be putting together a build for the first time and I was going to have a wireless keyboard/mouse. Will I be able to use that for the initial setup on my build or will I have to get a keyboard to plug in?

It may or may not connect right off the bat. It's safest using wired at first.
