Help, no post screen!

I got everything all put together and then when i turned on the cpu there was the green light on the motherboard, and 2 small red led lights on the x1900xt but no post screen!

I have tried assembing everything outside the case as the stickied post recomends and still no luck. I tried using some smaller sticks of ram still no luck.

So far today i have spend 7 hours straight messing with this computer and I am now exhuasted and very worried...

Anyone have any ideas?

If you connect the case speaker to the correct header on the motherboard, does it give you any beep codes?

There is no beeps :(

I was just going over everything for like the 10th time and rereading the motherboard instructions and there was one thing i am confused about.

Here is a quote from the page:

[I]ATX power connectors
(24-pin EATXPWR1, 4-pin ATX12V1)
These connectors are for an ATX power supply plugs. The power supply plugs are designed to fit tehse connectors in only one orientation. Find the proper orientation and push firmly down untill the connectors completely fit.

I plugged in the 24-pin power thing but i dont see ANY 4 pin cables at all ANYWHERE! I see the 4-pin spot on the motherboard.... I dont know if this is worth noting.

YES! I figured it out! There was no 4 pin connection because there was an 8 pin connection where there was 2 4 pin connections hooked together by a little tiny tab!

There was much rejoyicing when the boot screen came up!

Wish me luck on completing my build!!!!

I have almosot hte same setup as you. and was havintg the same trouble. thought it was the video card but when I put my working PCI card in the a8n-e mobo that didnt work either. I figured since we are using the 24 pin plug I didnt have to attach the 4 pin (which the powersupply didnt have anyways). I didnt even think of looking at the 8 pin for 2 4 pins attached together. im going to reassemble the pc and give it a try.....thanks for the advise (I hope it works)!!

That was the problem for sure. I thought I read somewhere that if you have the 24 pin thats all that needs to be plugged in. Once I plugged the power into the 24 pin, 4 pin, and the PCI-E plug into the video I was up and moving. I installed the OS and am up and running.

Awsome! I am glad that helped! I was getting so upset becaues i had no idea why things were not working and i learned a big lesson, read the mobo instructions, lol.
