Norton Internet Security 2004 Tampered?

Hello there.

Just today i turned on my PC and noticed that my Nortons Auto-Protect was disabled. I opened the program to see why and turn it back on. I found that every one of the status features was red and had 'Tampered' next to it. There was a message telling me to reinstall the product so i went to find my disc.

However when i got back, all of the status were normal.

Could there be something that is making the program look like it is working fine but is really covering something up? Should i continue with the reinstall?

I've never run into that, but I did a search on Symantec's site and it seems a lot of things can give tampering messages based on OS, file system, etc...
