Can you tell how excited I am?!!
Anyways, I have the Antec SONATA II case and I heard a fan making a little noise in the case. I checked and one of the wires was a little close to the cpu fan. So I moved that wire and started the computer up. Everything seemed fine.
Now, the SONATA II has this big old plastic air flow thing that goes above the motherboard. I (in my wisdom) decided to screw it back on WITH the computer running. Yeah. Mr. Genius. That's me. The screw fell on the graphics card, of all possible places. And the computer shut off. So I restarted it and got a beautiful checkerboard pattern and then it went to black. So, the graphics card is dead. I had already RMAd the card because the first one I got gave me a checkerboard out of the box. I doubt I'll RMA again. It's not very convenient for me to be without a computer for 2 weeks (I'm on a computer in the university library right now). So, time to spend $150 on another card.
Hopefully, it's only the card that's messed up, though.
