sli problem

i just bought a second 7800 gtx by evga to accompany my 7800gtx. They are both the same exact model. I was getting around 45 fps while in org playing wow. But now after installing my second 7800gtx i find myself getting worse performence than i did with one card. I found this strange. at first i was getting no lag graphically but now on occasion i do. I was not sure if heat was an issue but i did install a new heatsink and fan. My performence issues did not go away. I have also found lately that when i minamize a game the screen flashes and when i exit a game completly it freezes for a second in jumbled colors. I did enable sli but i was wondering if maybe i have done something wrong. Here are my other comp specs if it helps.
processor-amd 3800 dual core
ram-2.5gb
mobo-ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
video card- dual evga 7800 gtx

any help would be appreciated

Have you tried downloading the new SLi drivers?

Could just be that WOW doesn't perform better with SLI. AOEIII is like this - in all benchmarks, it gets more frames per second with 1 card than two with SLI. Also, I hope you aren't trying to use SLI AA... as it kills frames per second, and doesn't improve the visual appearance.

That also happens with HL2 and the Source engine.
