So tonight while browsing the internet, a window pops up that says "USB Device not Supported" or around that, cause about a second later my moniter didn't have a connection. So I thought it was strange as nothing was plugged in USB. So I rebooted, didn't do anything, new moniter, nothing. Even took out the gpu and put it back in, nothing. Also I have problems with anything USB, but thats because I have xp x64 and nothing seems to be supported. So now what do I do, I kind of need that computer, as all my school and personal stuff is on there. Also I guess this means I can't get Oblivian any more (though now I have an excuse to get a new gpu).

specs:
AMD Athlon XP 64 3700+ (754)
DFI Lanparty 256UT (something like that)
Geforce 6600 (AGP)
gig of ram
80 gig maxtor hdd
and tried it on my LCD and my CRT

ok so I tried a new card today (thank god for friends) with no results

so I am brought to the conclusion that A) its software or B) its my mobo

I would try going into the BIOS and disabling the usb ports and see if that clears the trouble.

Clear CMOS first and try booting up. If you can access BIOS from there, disable USB.

It's not software, and since you eliminated the vid card, it probably is the MOBO or processor, or power supply. Good news is that your harddrive is probably OK, and you'll just have to put that drive in another PC to get your data you need. I would slave it in another PC and get what I needed off of it before I reused it as a primary drive in a new PC..

yea I figured it was hardware. I just wish I had the money to afford a new mobo and cpu
