BSOD Win Xp Fresh Installation on Brand New Built PC

Check fo rviruses. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart.

MB - Asus P5LD2 945P 775
Vidcard - Asus 6800GT 256mb
CPU - intel p4 640 3.2G 800m 775 2M
RAM - 2 1gig sticks of Corsair
HD - 250g WD 7200rpm WD2500JS SATA
DVD-ROM Sony 16x burner

Any help much appreciated.
I put in my Xp Home version, I think I set up the system all right. I can get to the bios but if I let the Xp home run off the CD rom it will install a bunch of RAID controllers and other crap.. then say its starting windows and boom the Error.

I tried using another hard drive, Western Digital 40gig I use on this PC.. IDE
It gave me the run around wouldn't boot from it.. seemed like a whole nother problem itself.

according to that, it appears to be an improper RAID controller driver. i guess i would make sure you are using the correct driver (ie xp and not xp64 or 2003)

look in your mobo manual to make sure you even need to install a driver in the windows setup. some mobos don't require one to be setup in the windows install. my doesn't

Refer to your manual - connect the DVD drive to the blue IDE connector. Use the 80 wire cable, blue end to board and black end to DVD drive, jumper the DVD drive to CS. Connect the SATA drive to the red SATA1 connector.

Page 4-16. In the IDE Configuration menu in your bios, set Configure SATA As: Standard IDE. Onboard IDE Operate Mode: Enhanced Mode. Enhanced Mode Support On: S-ATA.

Page 4-29. ITE8211F Controller: Disabled.

This should allow you to boot with the CD, and not have to install any 3rd party drivers. Your copy of XP must have SP1 or SP2 already incorporated.

Your IDE hard drive will not boot because it already has a copy of Windows on it, and you are moving it to a different motherboard with a different IDE controller. It would require a repair reinstall of Windows to make it bootable again.
