Water cooling Pump question.

Hello,

I have a water cooler installed on my systemt hat I just recently replaced, because the pump failed.

I was told to beleive this was because of air in the system, I dont know if that was the cause, or if that can cause problems.


The water coolert that they shipped to me (pre put together) I installed fine, and works well. With the system running at about 22celsius.

The device does seem to have a small amount of air in it. and When I start it, It tends to make slight and hardly noticeable straining noises, but as the system starts up they stop and everything is smooth.

Could these be signs of a potential problem? Is there anything I can do?
Is a small amount of air in the device bad? Are these starting up noises abnormal? (they are very subtle)

A little air will not hurt anything. It's when the pump is not pumping any coolant that damage can occur to the pump because the coolant cools and lubricates the pump seals.

Just make sure the coolant in your reservoir is at the correct level according to the manufacturer and there should be no air problems. The startup noise is probably just a little turbulence around the pump impeller(s) untill the fluid gets up to speed. It should not take more than a couple seconds for the noise to go away.

Check the obvious for leaks where air could enter on the intake side of the pump and for kinks in the hose.

The noise does stop after 3-5 seconds of being turned on.

Also, Ive checked the system over many times, its completely air tight.
