Quick question guys
I have around 100 files eaching having a very long file name. the only difference between each file is the final number of eac part. Is there any piece of software available that I might be able to edit the files names in one go rather than 100 or so seperate times.
Cheers

XP has a very crude 'batch renamer'. If you highlight all the files you want to rename, then right click the first and give it a new name, then the rest of the files will take the same name, plus an incremental number in brackets. I use it for my digital photos.
Don't know if you need something more sophisticated than that, though.

I have over 100 of these and I want to:
a) remove all the stuff before 024,
b) remove the _ after 024 and replace them with spaces
c) replace the c in chapter with a C
sorry being a bit picky but thats what the military does to you!!!!

Few dozen to chose from:
File Renaming Tools
http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwfilerename.html
I'd imagine one of them should be able to help.
