I was kind of shocked by the title. The word "chinks" has two meanings, one of which is a derogatory term. Someone was not thinking.

I can understand their mission of trying to sneak information into China and I congratulate them for their attempts at doing what they believe is right. But there is the other side of the coin where they are undermining the laws of a sovereign nation. The best way to get a nation to change is through diplomacy and pressure, not to undermine their laws.

True, but China is a stubborn Communist country that will never let freedom of speech (or internet) reach its people.

That is true but never say never. So what do you do with a nation who you disagree with? Force them to do something? This is what starts wars. China could easily tell the United States that who ever is doing this needs to stop or face the consequences. This is serious business and it is not any US companies business to start undermining another nation. Would it be okay for a Chinese company to start breaking US laws on US soil? Of course not. It is Chinese soil when Chinese citizens are opening emails sent to their country or accessing websites banned by their country.

I am not defending Chinas censorship of information just to make that clear.

China is making progress in humanitarian efforts and moving towards a more open society. They are just not doing it as fast as what the western world would like to see. Perhaps we will see elections in our lifetime?

That particular word has two meanings here in the United States. Theinquirer.net is a British site owned by Breakthrough Publishing Ltd. The Brits do not use that word in a derogatory way as some classless zelots here in the states do. Then again, the Brits aren't so concerned with PC as to even care.

:) CricketSeems like that's sort of a moot point, isn't it? I mean, they got a 1 GHZ chip to equal a 2 GHz P4. To me that would be kinda like Chevy bragging that the new Impala will blow the doors off of a 1975 Gremlin. That technology is passed and outdated so what did they accomplish? :D
