Sometimes I have seen that their is no display on the monitor screen and when I take out the RAM from the system and just clean it before reinserting, the display appears on the screen. I wanted to know that does this happen because the VGA card of the system uses some memory of the RAM chips?

How do we find out how much memory does the System RAM and AGP card have from winxp?
Can we find it out by going into system tools --> system information?

How can we find out how much memory a RAM and AGP card has by looking at it physically, especially when it is not mentioned on the chip?

I hope my questions are clear.

It depends on what graphics card you have. Some integrated cards will use up to 64 MB or 128 MB of your onboard memory, while some (like newer cards) shouldn't.

At any rate, you shouldn't be working around inside your computer while it is on... make a habit of turning it off when you open the cover.
