Hard Drive Cloning

Ok I want to clone a hard drive and make it bootable. I basically just want the bare os with sp2. All the drivers and programs I can delete if they come through the cloning. I am building a new rig and am tired of calling Microsoft for a key. Can somebody tell me the easiest way to do this or direct me to a link? I'll probably use DriveImage XML. Thanks.....

what your wanting to do is impossible, the only way for that to work would be if the new computer was a exact duplicate of the old computer with no hardware changes at all. and doing that would be pointless.

sorry to say that moving a xp os from one system to another does require you to contact MS for a new activaction code, there is no way around this.
it is a very simple call and only takes a few minutes to do this.

minor upgrades does not require this, and if your building a new system, you should buy a new copy of xp for that system, so I guess I really don't understand why you would be making a lot of calls to MS for reactivation codes.
now if your in the busness of doing upgrades for people, then you should know this and that it is required by MS.

You would have to do a repair reinstall anyway if the motherboard is different - so what you want to do is actually pointless.
