I just bought a brand new HDD because of a downloading problem I had with my old one. Now when I put in my new one it is doing the same problem. Everytime I try and download something, it is having corrupted files and CRC errors.
Now I just tried to put a game in and install. I just got a CRC error half way through, just like with the old HDD. Now yesterday when I had my buddy come over and try his HDD in my comp. THe game installed just fine, same cords and everything else.

I don't think you problem with downloads has anything to do with your hard drives. your more than likly having internet problems with the download.

Run diagnostics on the new drive. You may have gotten a bad one. Is it jumpered correctly?

I ran diagnostics and everything checked out fine. Everything seems to be fine, but still on 80 percent of downloads there is some corruption problems.

Petelta,if you're getting CRC errors, you're probably having networking difficulties.
Your error messages could be generated by any of the below reasons:
During the transmission of the file it became corrupt or bad,the file was sent inappropriately,
the device being opened from is bad or contains errors, or the file itself is bad or the program attempting to open the file is bad. Check your network for collisions, and try reposting in
the networking threads for more help.:)

A good way is a comprehensive speed test. DSLReports (http://www.dslreports.com)
has a pretty good one. Look under TOOLS. It may not be your network that is causing the problem. It could be a corrupted source or program or even an intermittent network adapter.

If you are not having any problems with any other machines on your network downloading
the same programs form the same sources, it probably is machine specific (that particular machine). You're going to have to do some troubleshooting. Try duplicating the exact same conditions on another computer on your network, and check all your ethernet equipment
related to that specific computer (cables,connections,etc.). You might try swapping in
another N.I.C. (ethernet card),also.

These kinds of problems are very frustrating to troubleshoot, but it's the only way you'll
find the problem. Good luck!:)

I just recently got new motherboard with ethernet alrdy on it. but the old motherboard had same exact issues that this does so i don't think it is the ethernet card or network adapter since same issue is happening between two different things. I am going to take this computer down to other room to see if same problem happens.

Did you check the System log for disk errors yet ? It might give a hint about what is causing the errors : the drive or the network...
