I am trying to install Ghost 10 to back up my partitioned sata drive. I cannot because I require to load the nForce Networking Controller software via the A drive according to Symantec. I have tried to get a copy via the internet but have been unsuccessful as all the files I find are too large for a floppy disk. I have tried to extract from my installation CD, but get the message textsetup.oem is missing. Has anyone any idea as to where I can get what I need. Symantec tech help have been worse than useless to date.
Windows Xp, AMD Processor, Western Digital SATA Drive.

You should only need to install the networking controller software if you plan on using Ghost to back up and restore across the network. If you are ghosting to another internal drive, removable media, or a USB drive, this should not be necessary.

I may be wrong, but this seems logical to me.

Yep, unless the backup utility understands NetBEUI which I doubt, so the additional software to allow Ghost to software interface to the drive through NetBEUI may well be needed. I had to do this at school during a summer break to pull an OS image from a mapped network drive to about 25 fat clients ready for the next term.

Yes you think it should work, but it won't. When trying to recover using the CD, I get a frozen computer with MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION, some text about new hardware installed, and an error STOP 0X0000009C(0X00000004,0X8089A7A0,0XB2000000,0X00070F0F).
There is no new Hardware and Device Manager shows all hardware healthy.
I have given up getting any usefull support from Symantec, the last mail, in very broken english just told me the system requirements that I can get from the manual. Big Help!
I am beginning to think I should Uninstall and get some new backup software, I think this time I will try before I buy though.

What are you wanting to use for backup media?

I am backing up to one of my other hard drives. It is PATA not SATA. I seem to be able to create the backup copy, but see the problem when I try to restore. I have checked out the Microsoft Help and Support web, but this only reaffirms that I have new hardware which I don't.
At the moment I have ntbackup covering my system, I have not yet tried to restore as a test hoping that I might get a solution to the Ghost 10 problem.
Thanks for your interest.

If you want to try another imaging program, take a look at Acronis True Image. You can get the trial version here:
