My HDD is partitioned in two, with FAT32 file system.
I want to undo this partition and also convert the full hardrive to NTFS.
Questions:
Will the windows program CMD.exe (fat->ntfs) do all this at once?
Is it strictly necessary to: reformat the HDD/reinstall winXP?
Will deleting a partition erase all the data in it?
If I`d had to use special software... could you recommend any freeware ones?

PS: I dont know which program was used to partition the disk...

1. You can convert a FAT32 partition to NTFS using a command prompt. You cannot resize a partition with any native Windows tools. All you can do is delete and create partitions, you would use disk management.
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. No. Partition Logic shows some promise, but I'm not recommending it yet. I recommend Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director, both commercial software. They can resize partitions without data loss.
