I recently got an invite to beta the new MSN 8 Beta and then I'm not exactly sure but now Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live also includes their beta hotmail with 2gbs and a few other features.
This IM client if you're a msn user is actually gotten better. The login time for one has sped up. The first time the beta was released it took more then 10 seconds to login, now it's really how fast your computer can load up messenger. Another plus is all the features and custom things you can do. Change skin colors, organize buddies, and one of the best features in my opionion is how easy it is to start a chat room. One of the things that bugs me is all the ads. Theres ads below the text enter and ads on the buddy list. It's rather annoying. But I suppose it's beta and free so I guess it's understandable. There are more games and such, and it seems to run smoother and more stable then MSN 7. But there are problems with the login, where the servers are fine but you can't log in at all. For perhaps 10min, or an hour depending on situation.
Overall I'd say it's a decent product and it should soon be released to the public, minus the ads.
Pros: Lots of features, nice chat feature, lots of activities and games, fast login.
Cons: Login problems, ads, random errors.
Final: It's still a beta so it needs people to give more reviews, it's getting there, like when msn 7 was beta. I'd rate it as 8/10 and choose this over MSN 7
