Video Card / widescreen monitor question

I am looking at a 20" widescreen lcd monitor. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 video card.

The monitor uses 1680 x 1050 resolution. My video card has a max of 1600 x 1200 resolution.

are these two items compatible with each other. I am not a gamer just normal internet and some photoshop work. Monitor has DVI connector.

It should support that resolution, as soon as the plug and play sees what the monitor is. You don't see that as an available res now because your monitor doesn't support that res.
