My new PC (3 months old) has a problem : whenI insert a CD or DVD disk into DVD drive (made by LG) and the disk starts to spin, the computer restarts itself.
My mother board is ASUS P4P800SE, DVD drive is LG (I don't know the model name now), OS is Win XP home. The problem is there since the beginning.
What to do to eliminate it?
Thanks

Dark Nova,
I'm sorry, but I don't understad what you mean. This is not my first PC, I've build a few Win XP home based machines and none of them was doing this. So if you mean that I should change any settings somewhere in Windows - well I haven't turned any "auto restart on".
So what to do?
Control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery. Uncheck restart on error. If it bluescreens, it's a software issue, if it simply still reboots, it's a hardware issue, most likely the power supply or the drive itself.

Hi glc,
OK, I've tried to turn it off and it helped. Today the PC worked normally without any reboot.
BTW it was just a black screen and reboot, no blue screens at all.
Thank you both for your help.
