I recently pruchased a couple of 3.5" USB 2.0 external hard drive enclosures. They are genric is nature and have little to none when it comes to support information on it. I purchase them from a seller on ebay. The item number is 8801725929

I have tried multiple hard drives in each enclosure and also with three different machines without any success. Are there any tips or tricks that someone could please share with me?

Thanks.

How are you jumpering the hard drives? I know the Acronis enclosure instructions call for Master jumpering but mine have only worked with CS. Worth a try.

I was jumpering them as Master per the little 3x5 note card instruction sheet. I will give CS a try and report back my findings.

Thanks.

Yep, put it to CS and it works. I double checked and the directions said to put it on master.

Darn directions.

You can't jumper a Western Digital drive to Master *anywhere* if it doesn't have a slave present. No slave, use CS or remove the jumper completely.
