DVD-RW discs not working with DVD+/-RW drive??

We have the BenQ 16X LightScribe DVD+/-RW Rewriter Internal Drive and I bought some Fujijilm DVD-RW discs to use with it. But...they don't seem to work. I insert the disc in the drive, when I go to My Computer and click on the drive, it says 'E: is not accessible. Incorrect function.' I thought I could use either DVD+RW or -RW discs?? Is there some setting or formatting that I am overlooking?

It has to be formatted...........or accessed with burning software.
