What kind of computer is this? Laptop or desktop?

Do you have access to another computer that you can temporarily install the hard drive into? That way you can at least scan the hard drive for viruses and malware.

Looking at your pictures I think you may be looking at maybe zero-filling your hard drive and reinstalling the OS.

If you're hearing clicks, and you're getting a kernel error, I'm betting your hdd is failing. Chkdsk is having trouble recovering it too. If you have access to another pc, download the Ultimate Bood CD and use it to test your hard drive before you got too much further.

www.ultimatebootcd.com

Clicking is a sign of a failing drive. You should test it to safe.

Look at the left sidebar - "Download UBCD"

Basic is fine, either zip or exe, theres a whole list of mirrors. There will be an .iso file in it, you open CD burning software and burn a CD from an image - the .iso is an image. You do NOT just copy the .iso to a CD.

Remove the hard drive and install it in a different computer as an additional drive or install it in a USB housing (or adapter cable) to recover your files.
