I wanna throw together an AM2 system after the initial AMD price drops at the end of this month.

I've been getting some great recommendations from you guys; all involving ASUS or MSI MOBOs, as they seem to to be the 1st manufacturers to come through w/ a good selection of some reliable AM2 boards.

However I love DFI, and I was wondering if anyone knows when they'll finally be putting out a wider selection of some reliable AM2 sockets.

I went to their site and they had two w/ DDR2 667 Standards. This isn't going to cut it, but if I knew about how long I'd have to wait that'd be shweet.

I haven't heard anything about DFI's plans, but I would have to imagine any AM2 DFI board would be VERY picky abour RAM. DFI's are already picky enough about RAM and when you consider AM2 by itself is very picky.... Just one thing to keep in mind.

ASUS would definitely be the best choice IMO.

Yeah I know.

I was hoping maybe they would publish some recommended RAM for certain DFI MOBOs, or maybe let their customers know what the deal is. If they do publish recommended RAMs I don't know where to find them; with DFI this is a must for the new fickle AM2s.

At the current juncture I agree with you entirely. Too many variables.

ASUS it is.

I think DFI has a forum where you can go to find out if your RAM will work. Sorry I don't know where it's at, but you might take a look there (maybe from the DFI support page?)
