I wouldn't say that the Nvidia's are the best. Sure, they give you good frame rates, but IMHO, the picture quality leaves something to be desired. I'm totally hooked on Radeons, not the fastes, but definitely a superiour picture quality.

It's purely a matter of individual opinion. I will tell you that the picture quality on an NVidia card is better than that of an ATI card, but it's purely opinion. People's view of which card provides better picture quality is subjective.

Now, that said... the framerates and speed performance of these cards shows that there is no comparison when you pair an NVidia card against an ATI card.
The GeForce 2s currently edge out the Radeon in OpenGL game titles and they run neck and neck in Direct 3D titles. The GeForce 2 Ultra blows Radeon away in any games. The GeForce 3 hastily does away with all of the above. I personally like the Gainward CardExpert GeForce 3. It is at the top of the video card food chain in performance and at the bottom of the list of prices for GeForce 3 cards. Can't get any better than that.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm I wonder how the Radeon 2 will perform? Hopefully ATI will make a Radeon 2 MAXX (dual GPU's). If these are ever released and perform great...it ought to tip the scale back towards ATI a bit.:)

Well thanx for the input.I may just go with the GForce 3 always wanting the latest and greatest.I had considered the Radeon too HAL and may even go that
way because I want good DVD quality as well.It may come down to what the pocket book says in the end though...hehehe..Just getting back into gaming and hear Strike Force is good clean fun.....

I agree completely that it's a matter of personal opinion and from what I have seen in the cards that I have installed, yes, the GeForce cards can go anywhere from nudging a Radeon in framrates to blowing it away, but for myself, I see a huge difference in picture quality that I'm willing to sacrifice some frame rates for. As Flopster mentioned, it should be interesting to see what the next generation of Radeons will be like. I still suspect the GeForce cards will dominate the framerate scene, and the Radeon will maintain the quality.
