I was on Battle.net today and this guy says he gave me 2 trojans both harmful... I don't know if i should believe him or not but I don't want to put my computer at risk. Any precautions I can take? Right now im running scans with ad-aware, spybot, ewido, and avg but they are all free editions. Any other suggestions or will that do the job of clearing the supposed trojans up?

Thanks guys

It was probably a veiled threat and the scans you are doing should confirm that. If you are running XP your firewall should have kept him out unless he knows of an exploit available through the open port that battle.net uses which I doubt very much.

It should. In the future always have your firewall on and an active virus scanner running at all times.

can anyone tell me what just happened!?!??!
I was trying to check my firewall to see if its on and it says that Norton is running but i remembered removing it a couple months ago... So i tried to remove it again and the program told me to restart. After restarting, just before the welcome screen on Windows XP the screen went completely white. Anyone know what this is? Does it have anything to do with the trojans? My scans didnt show anything different.

What Norton package did you have and what part of it did you uninstall?

it was Norton Internet Security 2005 and someone else on this forum gave me this link to supposedly uninstall it completely but apparently its still being used as a firewall...
also what about the computer screen "whiting" out? i tried restarting it again and it happened again but even slower...haha it looked creepy but can anyone explain?

Not sure on the screen problem but you need to get rid of Norton completely, third party firewalls can cause all sorts of internet problems on your machine.
I have used this on a few stubborn so and so's in the past.

How was Noton installed on your machine, as bundled software in a new machine or do you have the install CD?
